Bookworm Boy:

“Wait, I want to hear this.” (Gets his goldfish snacks and sits and watches me and Bookworm Dad have a heated discussion about a few things. Yes, I am right, I always am 😉

“Yup, Bonus is the annoying sister I never had.”

Yup, he hit the ball ad thought he was Babe Ruth. I think we sat in shock for about 2 minutes as we processed it all. It was pretty amazing. He needed that ego boost.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“I don’t need your help. I can heat up a burrito all by myself. I’m not a baby anymore.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

“I had the best day. I caught a ball in dodge ball and the other kids got back in. I’m a king.”

For Mother’s Day I wanted us to make ceramic  gifts to each other.  We chose the colors we wanted the other person to paint. I hope we can pick them up soon.

I’m so behind on posting and commenting. I’m struggling with a lot right now.  I have a multitude of things to and consider. I know we have to make it through hardships and trials to see the joy and love on the other end. I think I’ve had my fair share of these hardships and could finally use a break. I’ll just keep praying, listening to God, and waiting for a time when I can see why we went through all of this.

Bookworm Boy:

At school I made a discovery and it will blow your socks off. I found a dinosaur bone, but then I lost it.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

The sandwich at school, OMG it was a blast.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Walks into religious class late and announces, full of happiness, “Hey guys I’m here.” Yup that’s my guy.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Really Mom? You need to look with the good eye. It’s right in front of you.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Okay, I’m going in my room to get my toys. Hopefully I’ll miss the kissing part. Why do people have to kiss in movies? ***growling noises***.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Shows his Bookworm Dad his baseball fidget spinner. Dad looks on in jealousy as I announce that they have a camo one as well.

Bookworm Dad asks, Why didn’t you get me one? Am I not worth it?

Bookworm Boy spits out his water and laughs. “Oh man, that’s funny.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

On the weekends I let the boy sleep in the living room, sort of camping out and watching movies.

He wanted to do it all this week because having off from school. When I explained that it is only one the weekend if he deserves it. Well he didn’t like that answer.

“You’re mean!”
“I don’t accept your decision.”
“The conversation is not over.
“You’re a meanie.”
“I’m sleeping out here anyway.”

After he calmed down, thirty minutes later, we spoke about how  him sleeping out here is not a reward. Once he calmed down he agreed. I told him I love him which is why I’m making rules to help him grow up to be a good man.

Bookworm Dad:

What? I just wanted to kiss him goodnight. (As he continues to horse around with our son, setting him off instead of calming him down)

Bookworm Mom:

Fellow moms, please take care of yourself. I was in ER Monday night from last Monday night 9pm to Tuesday 4am with my mom. I thought I still had bronchitis, but when at the doctors they saw signs for a heart attack, but after an EKG that was ruled out for the moment. Then 8pm at night the doctor called to say my blood work showed a pulmonary embolism. (((If it was my regular doctor he would have called much earlier))). After all those hours in the ER, more blood work and a cat-scan, I was told my heart heart and lungs are fine, but because I never took good care of myself. I need to get back in shape, eat better, but still had signs of bronchitis and never got better. Now I;m on steroids and an inhaler.

I thought the worst was going to happen, thankfully I am fine now. I have learned that I need to take care of myself in order to be my best for my family.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Two days later, I fell. No trip to the ER required. I was standing on our old plastic step stool, one we had for over ten years, when it decided to finally give. I went crashing down, hitting both the cabinet and it on the way down. I was in shock and freaked out, but after some rest perfectly fine.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

This week I got strep throat. Yup, I was about ready to give up. I mean, how much shit can one person have thrown at them? Though, that’s three in a row, so I should be good for a while, right?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Think it’s time to start working on a new vision board.

Participants:

Bookworm Mom: the wife and mom to this crazy crew
Bookworm Dad: the husband and dad and often referred to as the big kid
Bookworm Boy– our only child, a 7 year old boy who thinks he knows it all and is the one in charge
Bonus – our sweet and lovable adopted rat terrier

Bookworm Boy:

Okay, I got it. I know what to do. Now let me play, I only have a little time to play before bed.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

I got this, I know what to do. Leave me alone.

(two minutes later) I need help. Why are you not helping me?

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Watching a video on sharks with his Dad. I had to step in and stop a possibly scary video, apparently I was the only adult in the house at the time.

Our son responds with. “This is in the ocean and if I was in the ocean it would be a bad day for me. I would never be in the ocean.”

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

Watching the movie, The Musketeers. At the end of the movie, they all come together to protect the king.

Our son stands up, throws his fists up in the air and shouts, “The musketeers are back in business.”

Bookworm Dad:

What? I just wanted to kiss him goodnight. (As he continues to horse around with our son, setting him off instead of calming him down)

Bookworm Mom:

So you just have one child then?

No, I have two children, who are 35 years apart in age.

Looks at me, then laughs. Oh, I get it. I have one of those too.
